It was a special night for Pace – and especially for our president, Cara Faske, who was one of this year’s Brava Award winners, presented by New York SmartCEO. The Brava Awards celebrate the distinguished achievements of 40 of Greater New York’s top women business leaders. Cara and all the winners were honored at an awards ceremony on July 27, 2016, at Hudson Mercantile, where more than 350 local executives and guests gathered to celebrate their noteworthy achievements.

The event kicked off with a cocktail reception, followed by a video-packed awards ceremony and a final, inspirational toast to the female leaders of Greater New York. Winners are also profiled in the July/August issue of New York SmartCEO magazine. Jaime Nespor-Zawmon, president of SmartCEO, commented on the winners:

“Brava winners possess the hallmark qualities of successful leaders — vision, passion, compassion, dedication, perseverance. Each winner in this year’s class exhibits these qualities in all facets of her life, from running her business to tending to her family and donating time and resources to philanthropic initiatives. We are honored to recognize a group of women who are truly making a difference in the world.”

In her SmartCEO magazine profile, Cara was quoted saying:

“I have always found leadership to be about respecting each member of my team and being inclusionary.”

We can attest to that.

The Brava Award is particularly meaningful this year, as Pace will be joining all of our WPP sister companies in the international “Common Ground” initiative, which you’ll hear more about in the months to come here on our Pace blog. The purpose of this initiative is to help address some of the most pressing issues facing the world today – and this year’s spotlight issue for WPP agencies is “Gender Equality.” There are not many women running ad agencies in New York City, so we proudly salute, cheer, applaud, whistle, and give a big shout-out to Cara for breaking through some glass ceilings and for recognition of her achievements in receiving the Brava Award, among some of the city’s top female business leaders.

CARAtulations, Cara!

About the Brava Awards
The Brava Awards program celebrates high-impact female business leaders in three categories: CEOs, Executive Directors of Nonprofits, and C-suite executives. Brava award winners combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community, and are exemplary leaders of both their companies and their communities. They encourage local philanthropy, mentor up-and-coming leaders and set their companies on the path to tremendous growth. Each year, an independent committee of local business leaders selects winners based on company growth, community impact and mentoring. SmartCEO shares their inspiring stories in SmartCEO magazine and celebrates their success at a high-energy awards gala.
