We’re proud to share the latest in our Pace Common Ground campaign for Gender Equality. This time out, we salute entrepreneur, scholar, and psychologist Lori Sokol, Ph.D. Lori is Executive Director of Women’s eNews, an award-winning, non-profit digital news service that provides coverage about the most crucial issues impacting women and girls throughout the world. She is also a writer, journalist, and publisher, involved for many years with the real estate industry. And like all of our Common Ground women, Lori has paved a successful path for so many others to follow.

Lori Sokol, Executive Director of Women’s eNews | Founder-President of Sokol Media

Lori was previously Founder/President of Sokol Media, Inc. Sokol Media published business magazines that covered a number of pertinent social issues including gender equality, environmental sustainability, and strides made by female professionals determined to smash the proverbial “glass ceiling.” Passionately committed to addressing these and related topics, she strives to empower individuals to triumph over gender-related societal limits through the media, enabling them to reach their full potential unhindered. Her articles have been published in the Baltimore Sun, The NY Times, Slate.com, and in The Huffington Post. Lori has also been interviewed on a variety of television news programs including MSNBC, CNBC, and WPIX. She is also currently the host of the radio show and podcast, ‘Women’s eNews Live,’ on 1490AM WGCH.

Dr. Sokol represented the US at IWFCI Malaysia in 2017, where she presented on the topic: “The Impact of Women Leaders on the Global Economy.” In December, she is being profiled in ‘About Face,’ an installation during Art Basel Miami 2018, consisting of a collaborative portrait series of feminist individuals spanning the whole spectrum from women’s rights activists, artists, intersectional and non-binary feminists. Working Mother Media/Bonnier Corporation published her book, ‘The Agile Workforce and Workplace: The New Future of Work,’ in October, 2011.
